2008 is finished and we hope that 2009 will be a better year. Although we had an international surfing event in Bali last year Bli Kacrut hopes there will be more international events, not only in Bali but in other parts of Indonesia as well, this year.

Support from the government for the development of surfing in Indonesia.

This time Bli Kacrut talks about support from the government for the development of surfing in Indonesia.Surfing in Indonesia has developed rapidly, as seen by the number of contests now held in Indonesia which is also a contributing factor. Support from the government is also vital as the main supporters of surfing at the present time is the Surfing Industry. Bli Kacrut thinks that surfing must be included as a sport in PON (National Sport Competition) because there are now 7 provinces in Indonesia with waves suitable for surfing competitions.

Bli Kacrut's best Kuta Karnival

In this edition of Magic Wave Bli Kacrut talks about Kuta Karnival which has been an annual event since 2003. Kuta Karnival includes surfing contests, skate contests, music and culture. Bli Kacrut's best Kuta Karnival was the third one when he was part of the unique parade which he loves.

Kurang Sabar, Gagal Menjadi Juara

Bli Kacrut’s third trip in 1993 was to Brazil, a country better known for soccer. He went to Baha Beach along with Wirtawan, Made Supatra, Gultom, Imanuel and Joel Darsana. They spent two weeks there for the World Junior Amateur Championship and learnt many new things, the main one being patience. This contest had junior and open classes and was much busier than the contest in Vietnam, almost three times the number of countries attended.
