1st of all, congratulations on winning at Sumbawa, What did you think of that contest?

> Thanks.... the contest at Scar Reef was very different and special for me. Firstly because Scar Reef is one of the best waves in Indonesia and secondly it’s where I won my first contest on the ISC tour. Unforgettable...hehe...

 

What factors contributed to your win after such a long time?

> What made me win at Scar Reef? Hmmmmm luck and always have fun in every heat...that’s all... 

 

You have a lot keeping you busy these days; surfer, rapper, filmmaker. Which is your main priority? 

> Surfing is always number one but if I get a break in surfing I do other things like edit surf video and try to write hip-hop songs (rap) .....

 

When did you become a filmmaker? 

> Since last year....

 

Why did you become a filmmaker?

> A few years ago there were lots of surfing films being made by foreigners in Bali and it made me want to try and make a local surfing film.

 

Who did you learn about the film world from?

> I first learned how to edit video from Wayan Winjaya ( Cult Riders ), he actually got me interested in the first place and then I went on and learned more by myself. I tried to make a serious surfing film with all my surfing friends. 

 

What do you like about making films?

> I love it...I can express my ideas and creativity and try and develop my talent more.

 

What surfing films have you already made?

> So far one; The Session.

 

Are there goals you still want to achieve in making surfing films? 

> yeah, many....I want to make even better surfing films....

 

Which spot would you really like to make a film at?

 > I’m still thinking about my next film, like what is the concept...be patient..hehe 

 

Why did you become a rapper? Where did you catch the rap virus?

> I’m not a real rap singer...it’s just a hobby...my voice is just for friends at the moment hehe....I don’t know, maybe because in the last few years hip hop has developed more and is now booming, going with the flow...yew yow

 

Who is your influence in rap?

> I like Neo for a local artist and Snoop Dogg as an international artist.

 

Where do you usually rap/gig?

> I haven’t done a rap gig, maybe if one of my friends is having a birthday they’ll ask me cos they know I like to be an entertainer...hehe

 

Which of your occupations attracts the most girls?

>  I don’t know, I haven’t done any research on that yet......hehehe

                            

Do you have any unfulfilled obsessions in rap such as doing a gig with a stripper? 

> Hmmmmm I just want my rap music to be heard by lots of people...that’s all...

 

Why did you choose rap and not another genre more identified with surfing?

>  Because I think rap is more free and casual...you can basically do whatever you want I think...rap these days is more identifiable with surfing ..there’s not many surfers who don’t listen to rap now....

 

What are your rap lyrics usually about?

> About my life and things around me...that’s all...

 

Would you like to or have you made a film where you direct, ride and write the soundtrack yourself? 

>  Not yet....

 

What would you do if you weren’t a surfer? 

>  What yeah? An entrepreneur ya...

> Ocean Beach Club, for sure

> Jessica Alba.....
