I Wayan Suka

The MW reporter planned to go to Sindu in Sanur to get a tattoo but instead ran into the 4-star and the Legend for this edition. Not to waste any time, out came the notebook and pen and he interviewed them both…that is killing two birds with one stone plus food (haha…-ed)
Surf
Wayan Suka was playing at the beach when he was 9 years old when an Australian tourist taught him how to surf and lent him a board to practice with. “The sound of the waves was what made me interested in surfing until now, in fact I often surf until my eyes are sore and red.” Suka would often skip school to go surfing because the sound of the waves was calling him to the beach to surf. He lived close to the beach which was also a big factor in surfing becoming a big part of his life.
Activities
Apart from surfing, Suka now runs a surf guide business and has had a home stay at Jl. Pantai Sindu no 4 Sanur, for the past 14 years which supports him, but he would like to have a bigger home stay for surfers.
His advice for young surfers is “develop your skills so you can continue to become a legend surfer and for the legends to help direct the young surfers to improve their surfing”, and for MW Suka hopes that MW keeps supporting young surfers so that they can improve their performance for Bali.
