Dimarahi, Tinggalkan Sembahyang Demi Surfing

How are you?
Really good

Can you talk? Are you busy?
Sure, I’m not busy!

How old were you when you started surfing?
I started surfing three years ago so around…. (counting on fingers hehehe) 12 years old. Darma Putra was the first person to teach me and I am very grateful to him. Now I surf with Damien and Tonyo.

Are you still at school?
Yup, I am in year 8 at Harapan High School.

Does surfing interfere with your school work?
No not really, it just depends on managing my time. Surfing also depends on waves. I have skipped school to go to a contest. I was so scared when my father found out, but he wasn’t too angry with me.

Do your parents support your surfing?
They are really supportive, because my father used to be a surfer.

Have you been in trouble because of surfing?
Yes, hahaha… When it was Galungan I didn’t go to the temple, I went surfing instead. When I got home I got a big lecture.

I heard your Dad broke your board once?
Oh yeah, my Rusty epoxy board. I was supposed to go to swimming for sport but I forgot and asked to be taken to school…my Dad got mad and broke my board because he thought I was just thinking about surfing and not concentrating
on school. But I have a new board now that he bought for me.

Do you have a girlfriend?
I’m still single hehehe….I don’t have a girlfriend yet. Maybe they are scared to go out with me because I like to eat anything
as long as it is halal and I always drink teh botol…hehehe ( but is it halal to eat people?)

What are your hopes for the future?
Since my Dad broke my board my only hope for the future is that he never breaks my board again please!!!

Last Word?
For Bali surfers , stay at school because school is for our future.
