Eko is from Malang and he first went surfing when he was 14 at Halfway with his friend Pak Lantas from Madura. Eko was fasting when we met up with him and said he became interested in surfing because it is so extreme. He is the oldest of 3 siblings and likes surfing at Halfway even though it’s hard to get waves there. "I never drop in, I’m usually the one dropped in on he he he...”he said about Halfway. Eko can already do some tricks such as; snap, cutback and 360 and he wants to master Quiksilver rider Julian Wilson’s sushi roll.

“The good thing about surfing is that it relieves stress and the bad thing is that it makes your skin really dark” said Eko when asked about the effects of surfing.When he’s not surfing, like during the fasting month, he spends his time working at Naruki and hanging out at the minimart. He is 17 years old, previously went to school at Harapan Senior High School, has 4 girlfriends and likes to play the drums. He likes The Used, Click 5 and Dewi Persik. In the 3 years he has been surfing he hasn’t broken a board yet but he did get injured at Medewi where is thigh was cut on the reef and needed 5 stitches.

Eko idolises Clay Marzo and wants to continue his education in cinematography at Stikom. His message to all surfers: “Never give up surfing”
